St. Louis Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney Profile

St. Louis Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney

Julie Petraborg graduated from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 1998, and was admitted to the Missouri bar that same year. Her first position was with the Missouri Assistant Attorney General, handling a case load of approximately 1,000 Second Injury Fund cases. This volume of cases provided excellent first chair experience taking dozens of depositions of lay witnesses and expert witnesses, representing the State in numerous workers’ compensation hearings, and briefing and arguing cases to the Missouri Labor and Industrial Relations Commission and the Missouri Court of Appeals. It also provided the opportunity to learn the law applicable to the Second Injury Fund in painstaking detail, which helps her better represent her current clients in permanent total disability cases in which the Second Injury Fund is a party.

Julie left the Attorney General’s Office in 2002 for private practice, solely representing employers and insurers in workers’ compensation cases. After being a partner in two firms between 2002 and 2010 she formed her own firm in the Spring of 2010.
